Daily Calendar
Daily Calendar is an Android app that turns an old phone or tablet into a simple daily calendar dashboard. It displays a user’s schedule for the current day using read-only calendar access.
The app is designed for kiosk-style use on a desk, nightstand, wall mount, or tablet stand. It can show a full-day overview or a zoomed view, supports light and dark mode, and remembers the user’s display preferences.

Why Daily Calendar Requests Google Calendar Access
Daily Calendar requests read-only Google Calendar access so the app can display the user’s own calendar events in the daily dashboard.
Daily Calendar only reads calendar information needed to show the schedule, such as event titles and event times. The app does not create, edit, delete, sell, share, or transfer calendar events.
Daily Calendar requests the following Google OAuth scope:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly
This is the minimum Google Calendar scope needed for the app’s core functionality.
Google API Limited Use Disclosure
Daily Calendar’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Daily Calendar does not use Google user data for advertising. Daily Calendar does not sell Google user data. Daily Calendar does not use Google user data to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Daily Calendar (“the App,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a calendar display app designed to show a user’s daily schedule in a dashboard-style view.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and what choices users have.
1. Information the App Accesses
Daily Calendar may request access to the following information.
Google Calendar Data
If a user connects their Google account, the App requests read-only access to Google Calendar using this Google OAuth scope:

This allows the App to read calendar event information such as:
- Event titles
- Event start and end times
- All-day event status
- Calendar event timing needed to display the daily schedule
The App does not create, edit, delete, or modify calendar events.
Device Calendar Data
On Android devices, the App may request calendar permission in order to read calendar events available through the device’s calendar provider.
App Settings
The App may store basic local preferences on the device, such as:
- Dark mode or light mode selection
- Zoom or full-day view selection
These settings are stored locally on the user’s device.
2. How Information Is Used
Calendar information is used only to display the user’s daily calendar inside the App.
The App uses calendar data to:
- Show the user’s schedule for the current day
- Display event times and event titles
- Refresh the daily schedule periodically
- Provide a kiosk-style calendar dashboard view
3. Data Sharing
Daily Calendar does not sell, rent, or share user calendar data with advertisers, data brokers, or third parties.
Calendar data is used only inside the App for the purpose of displaying the user’s schedule.
4. Data Storage
Daily Calendar does not operate a backend server for storing users’ calendar data.
Calendar information is retrieved for display in the App. Basic app preferences, such as dark mode and zoom mode, may be stored locally on the user’s device.
5. Google User Data
Daily Calendar’s use of Google user data is limited to providing the App’s calendar display functionality.
The App’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Daily Calendar does not use Google user data for advertising, does not sell Google user data, and does not use Google user data to train AI or machine learning models.
6. Permissions
The App may request permissions such as:
- Calendar access, to display calendar events
- Internet access, to communicate with Google Calendar services when Google Calendar is connected
- Account-related access, where required by Android or Google services to authorize calendar access
Users may revoke permissions through Android system settings or their Google Account permissions page.
7. User Choices and Controls
Users can:
- Decline calendar access, although the App may not be able to display calendar events
- Revoke calendar permission in Android settings
- Revoke Google account access from their Google Account permissions page
- Uninstall the App to remove locally stored app settings from the device
8. Children’s Privacy
Daily Calendar is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information accessed by the App. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
Users should protect access to their device and Google account.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.

3. Calendar Data and Permissions
The App may request read-only calendar access in order to display your schedule.
The App does not create, edit, or delete calendar events.

4. No Guarantee of Availability or Accuracy

You should not rely solely on the App for critical reminders, medical events, emergencies, work obligations, or time-sensitive commitments.
5. Third-Party Services
The App may use third-party services, including Google Calendar and Android system services.
Your use of those services may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies from Google, Android, device manufacturers, or other third parties.
We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, data accuracy, or changes to third-party APIs or platforms.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for unlawful purposes
- Attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or interfere with the App except as permitted by law
- Use the App in a way that disrupts Google services, Android services, or other users
- Misrepresent your identity or authorization to access calendar data
7. Intellectual Property

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, calendar events, profits, or business opportunities arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time.
We may suspend or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time, with or without notice.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.
Your continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the developer’s place of residence, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
